Firstly, I would like to mention that the key to memorization is association. I use a technique called the Memory Palace or the Method of Loci. This technique involves mentally placing the items to be remembered in a specific location, usually a familiar physical location. In my case, I used the layout of my home to create my Memory Palace. I then associated each capital city with a specific room or object in my Memory Palace.
For example, when I thought of Afghanistan, I associated it with the sofa in my living room. To make it more memorable, I visualized the Afghan flag on the sofa, and I associated the capital city, Kabul, with a distinct sound, such as a car horn. This way, whenever I thought of the sofa, I would automatically remember Afghanistan and its capital city, Kabul.
Secondly, I used a memory technique called the Dominic System to remember the order of the countries. The Dominic System is a method of assigning a unique number to each letter of the alphabet, and then using these numbers to create associations between numbers and people or objects. I associated each country with a person or object whose name or number corresponded to the number assigned to the country.
For example, if the number assigned to a country was 12, I would associate it with a person or object whose name or number included the number 12, such as Tom Brady (American football player with jersey number 12). This way, whenever I thought of Tom Brady, I would automatically remember the country associated with the number 12.
Lastly, I practiced the memorization of the capital cities repeatedly, using timed drills to increase my speed. I also utilized various memory techniques, such as visualization, association, and repetition, to reinforce my memory and ensure that I remembered all the capital cities accurately.

This challenge is particularly difficult because it requires not only memorizing the order of the cards but also doing so quickly and accurately. To overcome this challenge, I developed a series of memory techniques and strategies that allowed me to memorize the cards quickly and efficiently.
One of the techniques I use is called the Memory Palace, which involves mentally placing the cards in a specific location in my mind, such as a room in my house. By doing so, I am able to visualize each card in a specific location, which makes it easier to recall the order of the cards.
Another technique I use is called the Major System, which involves converting numbers into sounds and then using those sounds to create memorable images. For example, the number 6 can be converted into the sound “sh”, which can then be used to create an image of a shark.
By combining these and other memory techniques, I was eventually able to memorize a deck of shuffled playing cards in just 18.90 seconds, setting a new national record for Singapore.
